We are very lucky to live within minutes of one of the best zoos in the country.
Beckett is obsessed with animals. I mean OBSESSED! He loves cows, horses, birds,
dogs....well, you get the idea. Anything really.
So naturally, Chad and I were pretty excited about taking him. We had been planning to go last Saturday for a while, but when the weather turned yucky, we rethought it for a moment, but decided to go anyway. After all, there is so much to do that is actually inside at Riverbanks, it was definitely worth braving the cold to go.

We didn't actually even make it to the zoo until 4pm. After a foul mood morning and his 2 hour nap, we just couldn't get moving! We made it to the zoo only an hour before they closed. |

We went ahead and sprung for the season family pass since
we're pretty sure we'll be back a good bit once the weather turns warm.
This trip ended up perfect. We didn't overstimulate him by showing him all the big animals like the
lions, tigers and bears (oh my) and it also gives us an excuse to come back again. My brother tagged along with us. I think he was as excited to see how Beckett reacted to all the animals as much as we were.

Well, there you have it. An hour at the zoo.
We did run over to see the bears quickly before they closed.
Overall, he really liked it. It was the perfect first trip since it was freezing outside, they weren't extremely crowded and there was plenty to see in a heated building.
We can't wait to take him back again to see all the bigger animals and visit the
petting zoo!
What a great way to end a Saturday evening!
I loooove Riverbanks Zoo! I have a brick there with my name on it :-)
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are amazing! What kind of camera did you use? They are so crisp and clear. Great job!
