Gimme some SUGAR!!

Happy Valentines Day!!!
Here's my little 'eye candy' from this weekend.  Nonna had a few surprises for sweet boy so Beckett and I ran over for a visit.  I think we can safely say that he liked the lollipops that he got a small taste of!
Chad surprised me Sunday with a visit from Gigi!  She dropped by to sit with Beckett so Chad and I could have a Valentine's dinner out.  Bonefish sure beat the heck out of the Taco Bell dinner  I picked up on the way home from running errands!

Getting cleaned up and ready for round 2, the mickey mouse lollipop!

Yum yum!!

Funny Nonna

I'll most likely get in trouble with Beckett's Nonna for posting this video but it's just too funny not to share.  Chad and I already lied and told her it got 500 hits on YouTube anyway!

A few things I've learned about motherhood (and pregnancy)

There is no such thing as "eating for two"
No baby in this world needs Cracker Barrel and red velvet cake on a regular basis.
Once the baby is born, the red velvet cake, chicken and dumplins don't magically go away!

To all of you who told me, "Take a nap" and "enjoy your sleep while you can"
Why didn't I listen?

No one can prepare you for the overwhelming feeling of love you have when your baby is placed in your arms for the first time.  I knew I would love him, I was truly unaware how MUCH I would love him!!

You have an all new respect for your own mother, especially if she declined an epidural!

Grandmothers are placed on this earth with the sole purpose to spoil their grandbabies.  Period. End of story!

You lose touch with the people in your life whom you should have banished years ago but wish more than ever that the ones that are no longer here could share in your joy.

Your heart breaks much more easily.

It's the little things in life that matter the most

You think of someone else 435,897,546,268,745 times a day

You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child

You take time for one more hug and kiss, even if it means you'll be late

You find your baby's pain feels much worse than your own

You become a morning person

You now believe in love at first sight

Super Bowl Sunday

Before we had any kids, Katie, Darby, Chad and I would do dinner on Sunday nights.  Needless to say, the last few months years have been a bit busy, but we found time last weekend to hang out with our expanding families.  My how fast they grow!!!

Molly Catherine thought he would enjoy playing with her favorite toy purse and Elizabeth Shea had to check him out too!

Sweet Elizabeth Shea

MC thought she was such a big girl holding Beckett, she had to make sure he had a blanket so he wouldn't be cold!  So cute!!  Love her tiny pink Guy Harvey t-shirt...

3 Months Old

Monday was Mr. B's 3 month old birthday!  Really?  Is it possible that I already have a 3 month old?  Beckett is really soaking everything in.  He LOVES looking at t.v. and computer screens and is chewing on everything.  We've caught him a few times trying to stick both his fists in his mouth!
"Why is our internet so slow, Mommy?"
He's been so good (so far) while I'm getting ready in the morning for work.  I give him a toy and he chews, drools and goos at me while I put my on my make-up and curl my hair.  Chad and I both have never been morning people but we really don't mind it so much anymore since it's Beckett's happiest time of day.

Who needs a snooze button when you have these droopy sweet cheeks to wake up to everyday!!

The Bumbo Seat

"I'm just chillin' out, mommy"
(and drooling....)

....more drool....

Bubbles, bubbles and more bubbles!!

HAPPY TUESDAY!

Stinky

It's amazing the fun names Chad and I have come up with for our sweet boy but amazingly enough, he get's called "Stinky" by us both.  It's not that he's even that stinky....although the diapers smell worse daily.  We somehow managed to tag him stinky and it's been a term of endearment ever since.
Of course, this is by far not the ONLY nickname that he's been dubbed.  Since we found out we were expecting, Chad affectionately has referred to him as "peanut."
Here is a list of the funny, the goofy and the strange and unexplainable nicknames we call our baby boy:
Stinky
Peanut
B-u-u-u-ddy (pronounced exactly as spelled, don't ask why)
Nonna Buddy (obviously given to him by his Nonna)
Baby 'B'
Wee Willy  (I have my sister-in-law to thank for that one)
Sugar Dumplin' (I overheard my Aunt Anita call him this one day...)
Mr. B
Beck Beck
Sweet Cheekers
Super Cheeks

Just Hangin' Out

Laughter is the Best Medicine!

So.....
My twelve weeks are over and I'm officially back to the old grind!
Leaving Beckett at home yesterday morning was like being stabbed in the heart.  However, this is the sweet boy I came home to yesterday....laughing at his Nonna and smiling from ear to ear at me!
No one can ever prepare you for the joy you feel when you see your child's face light up with laughter and happiness!
