Happy Faces

 I get a two for one deal.  A sitter-slash-photographer!  Beckett's summer sitter
(who is also very good with a camera) asked if she could take some pics of Baby B
with my camera on Friday.  I've posted some of my favorites of his sweet mug below and a few
others that she took around the house.  What a great surprise to come home and find your camera
full of great pics of what you missed that day!  If you want to see more of her work, click HERE
to view her Facebook page.  Make sure to check out (my favorite), the North Dakota album.
"Paci droppin" sleepy.  That's some gooooood sleep....

Thanks Meghan!!

Ch-Ch-Ch CHANGES!!!

If your'e a regular at our little family website, I'm sure you've noticed a few changes.  The blog has
undergone a mega renovation and I'm hoping that it will make it much easier to maneuver.  It's
becoming a one stop shop (literally) for just about everything under the sun.

Not only have the graphics changed to a more hip and happenin' graphic design, but I've
added some menus (as you can plainly see, since I've pointed you in the right direction
with the help of flaming red arrows...)
The menus may change a bit from time to time and some are still under contruction, but are a "go-to" for whatever you may be looking for on the site.
For example, as many of you know, I do calligraphy for weddings as a side job and I thought this
would be a great place to display samples, prices and details.  The 'shop' icon will feature items
I'm ready to get rid of, but not willing to sell on ebay or at consignment shops (they only usually give you 40%).  Any offers are encouraged and the list price is not a firm one, so contact me if you are even
mildly interested in anything.

I hope everyone has as good a time touring the new site as I've had setting it up!
Happy Friday!

Parties, Showers and Other Stuff

If you happen to make it to the bottom of this post and read the whole thing, you deserve an
award.  There is plenty to share, so bare with me.
If you care nothing about my narration of what happens everyday in
Beckettland, feel free to scroll on down the page.
I promise I won't judge you!
I know I share every detail of
his growth and development and not everybody cares when he had his last poopie
(speaking of poopies....I will never, ever, ever buy Huggies again.  I'm not going into detail,
but I've spent more time cleaning up things outside of his diaper than I should....so back to
pampers we go.  And Luvs--you'd be better off with some scotch tape and a paper towel.
 Ok rambling....)

So, if your'e still reading and are in suspense...

We got a new car a few weeks ago.  I love it but HATE filling it up with gas!
It's pretty hard going from a Honda Accord to a V8 SUV, but we desperately
needed the room and all the safety features it offered.
Beckett wanted to help daddy wash it.
I know you're probably scratching your head thinking, 'why is that child always in
the walker?'
'will he ever walk on his own or do they ever let him play anywhere else?'
The truth is, he actually loves it and will play in it while I get things done around this house--
which is priceless considering there's always something to get done.  I need a
housekeeper.  and to win the lottery.  and a yard man. and a pedicure....

In other news:
Mr. B is now 7 months old, has cut his first tooth and
has started crawling!!!
Hopefully (in my nonexistent spare time) I can get some videos to share.

Molly Catherine Hane turned 3 a few weeks ago and we took Beckett to her birthday party
at the lake house.  We all had such a great time catching up with everybody and Beckett had
a blast.  There were so many kids to entertain him!

Mrs. Cathy has the most beautiful hydrandgeas all over the yard.  They are enormous and are along
every path and walkway.  I'm so envious!

We still haven't mastered the sippy cup.  Once he tastes the water we put in it, it usually gets thrown.

They really have the right idea with the birthday parties.  Two inflatable slides
(one with a climbing wall) and a kiddie pool for the kids to play in.  Everyone had a blast
and they just ordered pizza for everyone!  No frills-- just loads of fun for all the kiddos!
I even got to see the triplets (well, 2 out of 3, Holden was sick).  I can't get over how tall
Sarah Nell has gotten since I saw her last!

Lots of bubble fun!
Elizabeth Shay checking out her future boyfriend ;)

Again with the walker....

Eyelashes galore!

Could this child look any more like his daddy?  Last night I asked Chad (as Beckett was
snoring so loud he could have sucked the paint off the walls) if there was even a smidgen
of me in this child?  Chad's reply: "Oh yeah.... he's stubborn as hell, just like his mommy."
Thanks honey.

He's started to really notice the camera that is always attached to my face.
Along with everything else he wants and can't play with, I tell him 'NO' very sternly
and all I get is a goofy laugh in return.

Last Sunday I attended a baby shower for one of my besties, Kayleen.  She's due in
the next few weeks and I'm so excited about meeting her new little boy Weston!

"Awwwww...."

The annual 'old roomate' pic

Here'e the beautiful mommy to be!  Now why couldn't I look this glamorous weeks before I give birth??
Life just isn't fair...

Busy Smurf

I'm in dire need of some computer time.  Both of my SD cards are chock full of pictures that need to be edited and added to the blog, but I'm so short on time!  Chad's been sick and out of town all week and I'm trying to wrap up a calligraphy job.  There's so much to blog about and so much share!
In the meantime, here is my little smurf last week.  Gigi kept him on Thursday and sent me this picture of him under the desk in the kitchen.  The drawers in the kitchen haven't gotten childproofed yet, so Gigi used the chair to block a bank of drawers in the kitchen from Dale Earnhart, Jr. here.
As soon as the spot under the desk was empty, he swung his walker into his 'garage.'
*Here's a little side note to anyone building or remodeling a home...
Pass on the espresso finished floors.  They are beee-yoo-tiful when they are clean but when you have a 7 1/2 month old, they pretty much look horrendous most of the time.  Even before Mr. B came along, they were very hard to keep clean and show every crumb and speck of dust imaginable.

I'll try to post some new pics soon, Happy Monday!

The week (or Two) in Random Pictures

He tried baby food for the first time.  It was bananas.  He doesn't make this face anymore.
It's more of a 'mouth-wide-open-lunge-for-the spoon' look.
He's quite a fan of the sweet potatoes.

These were the daisies Chad gave me for mothers day.  I bought an external flash.
I'm learning how to use it because I get much better pictures without the built-in flash on my camera.
 This was a test.

Beckett and I visited Lauren's pool last weekend.  Crazy mommy let him stay in the pool
approximately 5 minutes before she pulled him out and RE-slathered him down in sunscreen.
Poor baby does NOT have the slightest bit of olive skintone.  Total white boy!
Some days I manage to get him in the house undisturbed.  Most days, he screams bloody
murder because he's bored and ready to get out of the car.  I load him up with all of his toys
so he's fully entertained on the drive home from Nonna's.  Most get thrown across the backseat
and he has none left by the time we pull in the garage. This day, they all made it.
No casualties.
I just ordered his new carseat.  He's outgrown this one already.
 *Tear*

Tummy Time!

He would rather chew on his paci than anything else.  It's the best toy in the house besides
the house phone and the t.v. remote.

I edited this one a lot.  Here he is in black and white.

Always has smiles for daddy.....prepare to lose that hat!

He loves his Uncle Beau!!!  Bet you'll never guess who bought the onesie he's wearing?
Beau calls this "the elevator."  Beckett loves it!  It cures cries and makes him squeal
with laughter.
Beau might be able to skip the arm workouts.
Beckett could ride the elevator all day if you let him.

See those chins?  We have resorted to pointing at the ceiling and saying "look up"
so we can clean his neck...

Tried out the hammock on Sunday.  The hammock stand was my mother's day gift
last year.  I remember thinking how much I hoped the baby would enjoy it when he or
she arrived and could play in it this summer.  It's still very hard to believe that this time last
year we didn't even know the gender.
See that smile on my face???  Life couldn't get any sweeter!
