Arrrrrgh, Mateys! Happy Halloween

Check out our little pirate!  We had a blast again this year at his daycare Halloween party even though he had fought the stomach bug the same week.

Halloween Quote of the day:
Chad: "Beckett, say 'Shiver me timbers'"
Chad:  "Shiver me timbers, shiver me timbers, shiver me timbers, shiver me timbers...."
Me:  "Chad, could you please stop saying "shiver me timbers? It's getting on my nerves when you say it repeatedly."
(5 minutes later.....)
Chad:  "Beckett, you're all dressed up like a pirate, now say "Shiverrrrr me timberrrrs!"
Beckett:  "No daddy, I not say "shiver me timber....it makes mommy sad!"
(sweet boy looking out for his mommy ;)

Ahoy!!!!!
Tried to get a pic with mommy....
Again, doesn't want his picture taken.  Stubborn little pirate!
Cutest little pirate I've EVER seen!!!

October Beach Trip

One weekend last month, we took a Friday off of work and headed to Garden City for a long weekend with friends.  By Saturday night we had a house full 'o youngins!  7 kids!  Thank goodness this was a large house with plenty of space for them to run, play and have fun!

We arrived on Thursday night, got the kids to bed and enjoyed a night on the porch catching up.
The weather was unbelievable.
October in South Carolina is anyone's guess.
You're either bundled up and freezing or it feels like a nice late spring day.
This year was the latter.  Be-YOO-tiful!
Here's a panoramic shot (thanks iphone update) of the view from the porch.
Let's get a group shot!
4 kids plus the words "group shot?"
Nah, forget it!
These were actually the best two of about 45 that I took.
Chad dug a big tunnel on the beach on Saturday for the kids to crawl through.

October.....on the beach!
Fabulous weather and a great way to bid the beach a fond farewell for the 2012 year.

Such great times with great friends!
Happy Wednesday!

This Is 40

Have you seen the trailer for "This is 40?" I CANNOT wait to see this movie.  I loved "Knocked Up" but I think the real reason I loved it so much was because of these two and I think Paul Rudd is just halarious!

Fair Fun

The state fair was a month ago and I'm just now posting these pictures. Oh well, life, ya know.....
I'm actually at home today with a sick little boy so while he rests, I'm taking the time (between disinfecting the house) to update the blog and get some posts ready to publish this week.
This little boy LOVES a tractor!
He enjoyed an ice cream cone courtesy of Nonna.
The woman will use any excuse to hand this child sugar.

Yep, that's it.  2 whole pictures from our fair trip.  Beckett and I rode one ride together and he went through the buildings to look and pet all the animals.  We got him some cotton candy and called it a day!  He's still a little young for some of the rides, but I have a feeling, next year he'll be ready to ride!

Happy Tuesday!

Shower Routine Favorites

I haven't done a product post in a while because I've stuck with the basics and the old stand-bys.  Here's a list of the shower necessities for me.  Note:  All are drugstore buys, so no need to make a trip to the mall or Sephora, in case you're wondering!

Method Pure Naked Body Wash
The Olive Leaf and Aloe Vera smells fantastic!
I can't locate it at my local CVS, but Publix and Target both carry it.

This is a new favorite for me!!

I always end up coming back to Pantene!
I use Pantene for Normal-Thick Hair Shampoo
....and the conditioner....
Pantene for Normal-Thick Hair Conditioner
Aveeno Positively Ageless Firming Lotion

I think I've mentioned this lotion before.
I love Aveeno products and this one is my favorite.
The lotion smells clean and fresh!

Bio Oil

I add this to lotion and bath water!
It's a tried and true favorite for me.
Leaves skin incredibly soft.

Have a favorite product you've been using for eons?
Or new products that are worth a mention?

Happy Friday!

Happy Birthday Beckett!

Today "my heart" turns 2 years old!
I love you my sweet boy!  I never realized how much I'd love you more with each passing day.  Before you even arrived, your nonna told me that I'd be smitten with you and she was right (she usually is), and I'm so blessed that I have you!  You're so smart and handsome and funny and kind! You make me proud every day!

Happy Birthday My Baby B!!
XO,
Mommy

God Bless America

Beckett pulled out a book from the stack in his room last weekend that we've been reading this week.
It's Irving Berlin's God Bless America illustrated and based on the lyrics of the song.
He sings it along with me as we read.
Today, more than ever, I embrace the words.

GOD bless America.
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her,
through the night with the light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
to the oceans, white with foam.
GOD bless America, my home sweet home.

GOD bless America, my home sweet home.

Apologies

Life has been upside down lately, so please excuse the lack of blog posts!  I'm working up one big post of pics from our beach trip, Halloween and Beckett's birthday, and I'll hopefully be able to hit the 'Publish' button on it this week!

We had a bit of a setback last week when my poor boy got the stomach virus and was sick for 5 days!  I THINK (and I say that with fingers crossed) that we are back to a somewhat normal routine and can all stay well!

See you soon!!
Happy Monday!

Happy Birthday to Anna Wallace

My friend Lauren's little girl turned the big O-N-E this past week.  We had such a great time!  I'm not kidding when I say that I hope my child enjoys his OWN party as much as he enjoyed Anna Wallace's!
Here's some shots from the party.
{Thanks also to Lauren's mom for letting me snag some photos from her shutterfly account, she had some fantastic shots too that I couldn't pass up sharing}
Shades on .....pretty much the whole day.

The beautiful birthday girl.  It's hard to believe this sweet thing is already a year old!
Such a precious birthday dress!
Hot pink tutu wreath Lauren made.  SO cute!!
She got a {pink} wagon for her birthday.
Loads of entertainment for the kids and exercise for all the parents.
Kate pulling Beckett.
I overheard him say "Where'd that pretty girl go?" when she ran off.
Holy geez.
Riding with the birthday girl!!

Beautiful monogrammed rosette smash cake.

She's thinking about it.....
Sweet family!!
Yummy yummy cake!!
Beckett thought it was yummy too.
My child ran around like a nut for hours.
What a sight....hair stuck to his head from sweating and a mouth
stained with pink icing!

Sometimes the decorations are just as fun as the presents themselves!
Kate helped open gifts.
Tiny Dancer.
She's one of the smiliest little girls I know.
That big grin is adorable!
How 'stinkin' cute.
Scooped him up for a quick family picture as he ran by.
Testing......is this thing on?
Anna got a princess karaoke machine.
He decided h'ed just sing "It Was a Great Day" from the Fresh Beat Band
LOUDER over "A Part of Your World" from the Little Mermaid.
I'm taking requests!!!
More Fresh Beat Band?
Say again this kid is just like Chad.....
He seems to enjoy karaoke as much as mommy.
Liz, it's your turn....
My sweet little man!

Beckett's mommy, Anna's Mommy!
Had to have some balloons to take home.

We all had a blast!!!
Thanks for having us, Anna Wallace.

We love you and Happy Birthday!!

Happy Wednesday!
