Thirteen Acres turns 3!

February 10, 2009
My first blog post.
The beginning of something I had no idea I would end up
enjoying so much.
I started this blog as a simple way for friends and family to stay updated
on what was going on in our lives.
For those of you just joining us, let me fill you in a bit.
When Chad and I got married, we rented a one bedroom, one bath house.
It was TINY, old and waaaaay out in the country.
After saving every penny for 4 years, we finally bought 13 acres and
the plans to what I always considered "my dream home"
Enter....the blog.
People were asking for pictures of the progress of the
house every.single.day.
So, I started the blog as an easy way to keep everyone up to date.
After we moved in and got settled, posts lagged a bit.....
until Baby B came along in November 2010
Yet again, people wanted pictures of Baby McClary.
The rest.....well, has kind of turned into a one stop shop for all things K, C and Baby B!
I've enjoyed getting new readers and reading new comments, but more
than anything, I love writing posts.
Without any followers or comments at all, I would still keep it going.
It's a fantastic way for met to chronicle how Beckett is growing and
my thoughts on decorating and what I've learned about photography, etc, etc, etc....
Having nice comments is definitely the cherry on top!
Thanks for keeping up with us.
It's been such a fun ride so far, I can't wait to see what the future brings!

Stay tuned....

  1. Katie,
I love your blog! I came across it when I was reading Sixth Street Design School and have been checking it out almost daily ever since. Love your style! I'm getting married this year (and we are currently renovating a 1920s house along with a lot of DIY wedding planning) so I'm wanting to start a blog soon. Yours is a great inspiration. Good luck to your family and the blog in the coming years (and I'll continue to check it out!)
